Angus Joseph Kennedy

Peacefully at Miramichi Lodge Pembroke, ON surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in his 99th year. Angus Kennedy of Pembroke was pre-deceased by his loving wife Marion in 2018, married 72 years and they had six children: Dan Kennedy (Sharon), Kanata, Janet Baird (Jim) Pembroke, Lorna Chant (Harry Mercer) Sidney, BC, David Kennedy, Pembroke, Susan Lebrun (Peter Maheux and late Luc Lebrun), Calabogie, and Paul Kennedy (Joanne Fichault) Gatineau.

Loving grandfather to Jason, Amy, Russell (Erinn), Alison, Virginia (Jeremy), Jeremy (Elizabeth), Justan (Lisa), Steven (Tabetha) Jonathan (Catherine) and great-grandchildren Maya, Andrew, Ethan, Rachael, Gavin, Marcus, Evelyn and Carly. Brother of Lucy Lewis (late John), Daniel Kennedy (late Barbara), Vincent Kennedy (Esther), Joseph Kennedy (Jacqueline), Molly Montgomery (late Denis) and Anastasia Jennings (Jim).

Predeceased by his brother Daniel, sister Molly; brother-law and sister-in-law Charles Tallett (late Joan), and parents Edna-Mae and Andrew Kennedy. Survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.

He met Marion while training during WW11 in Yorktown, Saskatchewan where Angus received his Royal Canadian Air Force pilot wings. They first lived in Hamilton then moved to Allumette Island, operated a small family farm and cottage business(Kennedy Sandy Pines) while working for Imperial Oil. He then co-owned GAMA Sales and Services in Pembroke for several years, retired then decided on a short stint in Real-Estate with Astrolabe Realty. His dedication to his faith and family was paramount, also known for his quick wit and humour.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Angus during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella St. Pembroke on Saturday, Oct. 30th from 9:00am-10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pembroke. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery.
