At the Ottawa Civic Hospital, with his family by his side, on Sunday December 18, 2022 at the age of 85 years. Bert Risto of Petawawa, beloved husband of Jean Risto (nee Schultze). Loved father to Corinne Ramey (Bruce Burns), Ottawa, Stewart Risto (Gemma), Burlington and Jonathan Risto ( Karen), Stittsville. Loving grandfather of Catherine, Jacob, Isabella, Sabrina, Rebecca and Elizabeth. Dear brother of Betty Goode (Ken), Markham and brother-in-law of Dennis Schultze (Johanna), Sudbury. Son of the late Alexander and Isabella (nee Heinze) Risto. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and many friends.
Cremation has already taken place.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Bert with his family during visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Wednesday December 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday December 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 357 Miller Street, Pembroke . Visitation at the Church after 10:00 a.m. Spring Interment St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
In memory of Bert, donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would be appreciated.
