Bruce Macheska
Passed peacefully at Heritage Manor on July 27, 2022 at the age of 66 years, after a brief illness. Bruce Macheska of Pembroke was the son of the late Joseph and Roma (nee Thomson) Macheska. Dear brother of the late David Marcus. Brother-in-law of Peggy Marcus. Beloved uncle to Pauline Smith (Richard), Laura Dumont (Bruce), Gregory Marcus (Francine), great-nephews Christopher Smith (Halina), Matthew Dumont (Kendra), Jacob Dumont (Claire) and Nicholas Dumont and his great “grand-niece” Lyla Smith.
Bruce had a passion for coins which afforded him the opportunity to make many friends in the banking and business community. For a period of time he volunteered with the CNIB, CNL, VON and the Champlain Trail Museum. Bruce was a lifelong learner and an avid reader. He had a keen interest in computers, cars, coins and had a photographic memory for dates and historical events. Bruce was a bowler with the Special Olympics and participated in skating and swimming in his later life.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday August 4th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Columba’s Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke
In lieu of flowers, donations to Upper Ottawa Valley Community Living would be appreciated.
