Obituary for Cheryl Woermke (Barber)

Cheryl Lea Woermke
(nee Barber)
November 23, 1957 – February 13, 2022
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Cheryl Woermke, who left us peacefully on Sunday February 13, 2022. Loving wife for 44 years of Robert Woermke, and cherished mother of Natasha States (Charles), Shane Woermke (Adrianna) and Kori Lariviere (Kyle). Loving grandmother to Aysha, Morgan, Caleb, Drew, Brielle, Kinsey, Jacob, Logan and Ezmay. Cherished sister to David Barber (Mona), Pembroke, Stephen Barber (Debbie), St. Catharines, and Jeffrey Barber (Mona Leah), Renfrew. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Lionel Barber and Donna Miller.

Ever the loving matriarch of her family, her careful guidance enriched the lives of both her children and grandchildren alike, with her grandchildren being an especially bright light in her life, and she cherished every
moment with them.

To those who knew her, she was always the kind-hearted optimist, always with a good word to and about others. Cheryl was a devoted Christian, and a regular participating member of Emmanuel Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Petawawa, for over 35 years. Her boundless faith was evident daily through conversation and action alike, as she faithfully lived her Christian life.

An enormous void has been left in the Woermke and Barber families, but we know she is in good hands now, resting with her maker.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Cheryl with her family during visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday February 21, 2- 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday February 22 in Emmanuel Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church 1787 Petawawa Blvd., Pembroke.
