Peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Saturday August 18, 2018, at the age of 79 years, Peter Vanderzon of Pembroke, husband of Elizabeth Bartoli, passed away. Dear father of Petrus Vanderzon, Pembroke, Marcus van der Zon, Helena van der Zon and Marian van der Zon, all of British Columbia. Dear grandfather of Alex Witvoet. Peter is survived by his brothers, Hein, Wim, and sisters Catharina, Josephina, Marian and Anna all of the Netherlands. Son of the late Petrus Wilhelmus van der Zon and Anna Maria Cornella Zomer. Peter’s first profession was carpentry but in retirement he became a very happy farmer. Peter will be lovingly remembered for his ability to tell a great story, his quickness to laugh, his connection to nature, and his love of dancing and music. He will be loved and missed by his children and family. Friends are invited to share their memories of Peter with his family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Friday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 25th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Columbkille’s Cathedral, Pembroke. Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery Corkery, Ontario.
