Sister Marilyn Burns (Sister St. Inez), a Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON, died in Pembroke on the 20thday of April, 2023 in the 67th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community,her sisters, Joanne Glinski (Robert) and Patricia Cooper (Dick),her brother Gary, nieces and nephews and dear friends. Predeceased by her parents, Garfield and Inez (O’Reilly) as well as her sister, Valerie Harvey. Sister Marilyn was born in Ottawa, on April 28, 1938. She entered the Community on September 8, 1956, pronouncing final vows on August 9, 1961. Having studied music prior to entering, she was assigned as music teacher to various areas including, Ottawa, Timmins and Midland. In 1976, she began a new ministry in the business field, serving at Immaculata High School, Ottawa; as Secretarial Assistant to the Grey Sisters’ General Council for a period of four years;in Yellowknife, N.W.T., in the Diocese of Mackenzie - Fort Smith, as Treasurer. Other Ministries included Pastoral Leader of St. Bruno’s Parish in Wha-Ti, N.W.T., and several Leadership positions in Grey Sisters’ Convents.

Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Pembroke at the corner of Irving St. and Lourdesview Drive on Tuesday, April 25th at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Columba Cemetery.
